Obituary

Janice Tuffin
March 4, 1942 – October 21, 2020

Janice Marie (Goeke) Tuffin, 78, passed away Wednesday, October 21, 2020 at Laurelwood at the Pinehills in Plymouth, MA. She was predeceased by her husband of 50 years, Wilson Bramwell Tuffin I. She is survived by her daughter, Amalie Lewis Tuffin, her son Michael James Tuffin and daughter-in-law Michelle Tuffin, and her son John Barry Tuffin. She is also survived by five grandchildren whom she adored: Anastasia Ellsworth Tuffin, 16; Wilson Bramwell Tuffin II, 14; Giles Barry Tuffin, 12; Lilly Kearley Tuffin, 11; and Jack Ranieri Tuffin, 8. Janice and Wilson also had twin sons, Michael Claude Tuffin and Daniel Leonard Tuffin, who died on the day of their birth in 1966. She is also survived by her siblings Linda Randolph of Dawson Springs, KY; Leonard Goeke Jr. of Bonita Springs, FL; and Johanna Reilly of Whitinsville, MA.

Janice was born in Chelsea, MA on March 4, 1942, the first child of Leonard Arthur Goeke and Florence Theresa Goeke. The Goeke family lived in Chelsea before moving to Gardner, MA. Janice and Wilson met when they both worked for Nuclear Metals Inc. (NMI) in Concord, MA and after marrying they lived for 50 years in Acton, MA. Soon after Wilson passed in 2015, Janice moved to Plymouth, MA to be near her son and grandchildren.

Janice’s life centered around her family. As her passing approached, she said “I want to be with my husband.” A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, friend and neighbor, Janice will be fondly remembered for her kindness, decency and integrity.

My sincerest condolences to the family. Your dear mother was one of my favorites (along with your father) when parent-teacher conferences came around. Always approachable and never critical, your mum was delightful. May she join her beloved husband and may they Rest In Peace together. So sorry for your loss.
