Trevor Ryan Kononenko, 24, of Boxborough, MA and Denver, CO passed away unexpectedly on July 22, 2020. He was born and raised in Boxborough, MA. He attended Blanchard Memorial School in Boxborough where he learned to play the drums and was a member of Blanchard’s award winning musical program. At R.J. Grey Junior High School in Acton, he played in the band, and performed the role of Tweedle Dee in the school’s production of Alice in Wonderland, Jr. He played midfield for 2 years on Acton-Boxborough’s Varsity Lacrosse team, and made the drum line as a freshman in the Marching Band. He graduated Cum Laude from the Fisher College of Business at The Ohio State University in 2017 with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration.

After a year in the business world at Ernst and Young, Trevor decided that he would prefer to pursue his passion for producing Electronic Dance Music (EDM), and moved to Denver, Colorado in July 2019. This fits in with Trevor living life the way he wanted, and not necessarily the way other people wanted him to.

Trevor was a man of many interests, always willing to try something new. He loved to dance, and in addition to producing music to dance to, he loved to attend concerts, and even DJ’ed at a few. He loved the outdoors - hiking, mountain biking, rock climbing and skiing, and even managed to hike a portion of the Appalachian Trail while in college. He tried musical theater, and stand-up comedy. Trevor was a voracious reader, a talented writer, and an avid sports fan. He enjoyed playing lacrosse and basketball, and even ran the 300 meter sprint on the high school track team. Over one summer break, Trevor was able to achieve one of his life goals of taking a cross-country road trip with a few of his close friends to experience many of our country’s sights.

Trevor thought of himself as a spiritual healer. He was very interested in helping people with their mental and emotional well-being. He volunteered at several places to help with high school aged kids. In his short life, Trevor managed to touch many people, and was able to help quite a few of them in dealing with their life challenges. He was welcoming to all and quickly made new friends. You can see the many stories from these people on his Facebook page. Please feel free to contribute a story of your own.

Trevor will be dearly missed, and forever in our hearts.

He is survived by his parents Paul Kononenko & Carol Zimmet of Boxborough, his brother Kevin Kononenko of Somerville, his grandmother Shirley Zimmet and Aunt Judy of AZ, his Aunt Kathy of New Jersey, his Uncle Mike of New Jersey, and his Uncle Stefan and Aunt Rose Marie of San Diego, CA., and many others in his extended family around the world.
