Obituary for Susan (Gunther) Gerroir
MAYNARD - Susan Gerroir 80, and a resident of Maynard for 55 years passed away on April 22, 2022 peacefully after a long illness. Susan was the wife of the late Richard Gerroir, whom she was married to for 36 years before his passing in 2000.
Susan was born in Granville, New York, February 16, 1942 and then moved to Massachusetts to complete her Masters degree in Library Science. Susan moved to Maynard in 1967 and worked in the Maynard Public Schools as a middle school librarian. Susan enjoyed playing bingo and loved to walk in her neighborhood.
Susan is survived by one son and two daughters. Russell Gerroir and his wife Monica from Mohegan Lake, New York. Danielle Tye and her husband Gary from Quinton, Virginia. Heather Lyons and her husband Scott from Westford. Susan was the proud grandmother of 7 Grandchildren. She is also survived by a brother Jack Gunther from Vermont and many nieces and nephews and their families.
Relatives and friends are invited to visiting hours Monday April 25th from 4:00 to 7:00PM at the Acton Funeral Home 470 Massachusetts Avenue (Rt. 111) Acton. The funeral Mass for Susan will be Tuesday April 26th at 10:00AM at Saint Bridget’s Church. Susan will be laid to rest following the Mass at Saint Bridget’s Cemetery, Great Road, Maynard. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Friends of the Maynard Public Library, 77 Nason Street Maynard, MA 01754.
