Obituary for Robert Bradford Sargent

Robert Bradford Sargent of Lunenburg, MA died on February 13, 2020. He was born November 28, 1926 the son of Joseph Bradford Sargent, Jr. and Edith Hooven Sargent of Cotuit, MA. His loving wife of sixty years, Rosalie Caiger Sargent predeceased him by three weeks.

He was born in Englewood, NJ where he grew up. He attended Darrow Prep School and received a degree from Nichols College after serving in WWII. He was honorably discharged from the Navy in July of 1946. He served in the Philippines and received multiple medals. After the war he completed his college degree and worked as an engineer and manager in production and quality control. He raised his family in Acton, MA and retired to Lake Shirley in Lunenburg, MA. He loved sailing, playing golf, tennis, and ping pong.

Bob loved numbers. His date of death, February 13th, is the birth date of his father and eldest grandson, and like his father, he was 93 years old at the time of his passing.

Bob is survived by his two daughters Lee Delea and Star Sargent Dargin, and Star's husband Stephen Cabral; four grandchildren, Michael J. Dargin and his wife Kathryn Dargin, of Winthrop, MA, Kevin Dargin of Newmarket, NH, Sean Delea of Manchester, NH and Connor Delea of Manchester, NH.; and his brother Joseph Bradford Sargent, III and family of Florida.

Relatives and friends are invited to the Acton Funeral Home, 470 Massachusetts Ave (Rte 111) Acton, for visiting hours on Friday February 21st from 3:00-5:00 P.M. with a brief remembrance ceremony at 4:00pm. Interment in Sleepy Hollow Cemetery is private.
