Obituary for Richard R. LeBel

BOXBOROUGH – Richard (Dick, Dickie) R. LeBel, 84, of Boxborough formerly of Acton, passed away at his home on Thursday, October 19, 2023.

Dick was born in Lynn, MA on August 9, 1939, son of the late Edward and Juliet LeBel, and grew up in Arlington graduating from Arlington High School in 1957, and from Wentworth Technical Institute in 1959. Dick proudly served his country from 1960 – 1964 in the US Navy. Dick and Sandra raised their two sons in Acton before moving to Boxborough, MA in 2012.

Dick worked his entire career as a machinist in Acton before retiring in 2010. Dick was very proud of his work as a machinist and his sons like to say he could “machine anything with a blueprint and a block of aluminum”. Dick enjoyed spending time golfing, playing cards, coaching, and was an avid Boston sports fan as well as a diehard Cleveland Browns fan. Dick had three grandchildren who adored him and will miss him dearly. Everyone who knew Dickie loved talking with him and described him as a wonderful, kind man.

Dick was the loving husband of Sandra E. (Proctor) LeBel, the couple had been married for 58 years. In addition to his wife Dick is survived and will be forever missed by his son Mark LeBel his wife Kimberly and their daughter Jordan of Ayer, MA; and his son Michael LeBel his wife Debra and their sons Sean and Benjamin of Raymond, ME. Dick is predeceased by his brother Bruce LeBel.

A private funeral service will be held for Dick.
