Ramon Sanchez Morillo passed peacefully in his home on March 9th,2021 beside his loving family after a long 10-year battle fighting cancer with all his might.

Son of Juana Morillo Conde and Jose Sanchez Dominguez, Ramon was born on December 3, 1950 in a small Spanish town called Vilanova i la Geltrú, where he grew up with his siblings Juan Antonio, Gertrudis, and Jose. Ramon was always a studious person who genuinely enjoyed to learn. He earned his first master’s degree in analytical chemistry in 1979 from Instituto Quimico de Sarria (Institute of Chemistry) in Barcelona, Spain. Shortly after, Ramon met his Danish wife of 40 years, Connie, through a mutual friend. In 1981, shortly after their marriage, Connie and Ramon moved to Denmark where they built a life together. In Denmark, Ramon continued his studies earning a second master's degree as well as PhD in physical chemistry at the Danish Technical University in Copenhagen. He then began his job as a technical chemical engineer, which became his guiding path for the rest of his career.

Besides Ramon’s passion for his career and studies, he was also extremely passionate about his family and especially his children Erik and Irene. Connie and Ramon enjoyed teaching their children the many things the world has to offer through many family vacations worldwide, including visiting family in Spain. In 2004 Ramon’s life took another turn, when he and his family made the big decision to move to New Jersey, USA. While his kids attended school and Connie continued her career, Ramon furthered his career as a chemical engineer specializing in technical development of adhesives, coatings and resins.

Ramon was a simple yet very complex person who enjoyed the company of others and especially appreciated an intellectual conversation. As a man of many cultures himself, he enjoyed embracing and exploring other cultures and was always ready for a healthy debate. He knew what he wanted and what he wasn’t willing to put up with. He was loving and supportive beyond belief, especially when it came to family. There was not a thing he wasn’t willing to do and not an obstacle, even cancer, that could get in his way when it came to his loved ones.

Ramon left a unique impression on every person he met with his genius smarts, his charm, his witty humor and caring touch. Many referred to him as inspiring, motivating, and of course, the sweetest person they ever met. He lived out his days eating his favorite sweets, traditional foods, spending quality time with his family in the US, chatting with his siblings and relatives in Spain, connecting with friends in Denmark and Mexico, and enjoying every little bit that life has to offer.

In his true character, he made sure his family felt all his love and support until his very last moments. There are no words that can describe how much he will be missed.

Ramon is survived by his wife Connie, his children Irene and Erik, his siblings Jose, Gertrudis, and Juan Antonio, as well as his loving nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate a donation of a tree planted in Ramon’s honor via https://www.thegiftedtree.com/memorial-gift-tree/ (please use your own address information, all tree donation certificates will be sent directly to the family) and encourage you to share your favorite memories of Ramon on the memory wall. The family wished to convey their thanks and appreciation to Jill, Sammie, and the other doctors and nurses at Care Dimensions.

There will not be any formal services as the family wishes to have a private memorial service.

Such a beautiful narrative of a man who was clearly deeply loved, and will continue to be loved and remembered by those who will carry his light forward. Although I never met the man, I have the privilege of knowing his beautiful son, Erik, who is a great gift in the lives of me and many others. Many thanks to Ramon for my friend. May your memory be Eternal. May you all love each other harder and find your way forward carrying a little bit of Ramon with you always.
Jill, Ashland, MA.
