Obituary for Patricia Pierson

On Sunday August 6, 2023, Patricia (nee Coughlin) Pierson Lees died peacefully at the age of 84 after a short illness; she would have celebrated her 85th birthday on August 7. She will be profoundly missed by her loving sons Gregory and daughter-in-law Stephanie of Neshanic Station, NJ, Gary and partner Beth of Londonderry, NH, Christopher and partner Bridget of Waitsfield, VT, and Steven and daughter-in-law Hallie of Stow, MA. Her 8 grandchildren, Brandon, Sean, Ryan, John, Maggie, Tighe, Tucker and Autumn all shared a special relationship with their Nana as they were her pride and joy.

She shared her passion for skiing first with her four sons and then with their spouses, partners and grandchildren, a love that still resonates with the entire family.

Patricia was born in Boston, MA on August 7, 1938, to Edward and Marie Coughlin. She was a graduate of Marshfield High School, MA where she was star basketball player. After graduating from high school, she married William Pierson and raised her four sons in Acton, Mass. Her tenacious and persistent spirit paved the way for a successful 25+ year career in candy sales. She later moved to Philadelphia where she met and married the love of her life, Jack Lees. She continued to be a lifelong New Englander, with an undying passion for all New England sport teams.

Among Pat’s greatest loves were spending time with her family and friends. Her friends were her family, and her family were her friends. She was infamous for entertaining, enjoying good food, drink and conversation, always with a laugh or three. Pat and Jack lived in a condo on Pier 5 in Philadelphia, and she considered the whole Pier as her home not just the condo. As an ultimate bargain shopper, the Pier knew if they needed anything, they only had to ask Pat and within minutes she would be able to pull it out of one of her many closets that only she knew existed. She will be forever missed by her nieces, nephews and close friends. She was predeceased by her husband, Jack Lees, bother Ted and sister Shaela.
