Patricia Ann (Wehkoja) Donahue, of Hudson, formerly longtime Maynard resident, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 19, 2022 at the Emerson Hospital surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of the late William J. Donahue who passed away in 2000.
Mrs. Donahue was born in Maynard, daughter of the late Wilho and Julia (Mitzcavitch) Wehkoja. She was raised and educated in Maynard and was a graduate of Maynard High School with the class of 1952. She went on to graduate from Emerson College in 1956 where she studied speech pathology. Mrs. Donahue was a longtime speech pathologist and teacher with the Hudson Public Schools. She had a passion for teaching and truly enjoyed her tenure with the school, serving as president of the teacher’s union for a period of time.
Family meant everything to Mrs. Donahue. She was the biggest supporter of her children and grandchildren and rarely missed any of their sporting events, traveling anywhere from Gloucester to Connecticut and everywhere in between. She wouldn’t miss an opportunity to cheer them on and planned her day around the trips to these events as well as the inevitable dinner out with whoever her chauffeur was at the time. She enjoyed quieter times reading, knitting, doing crossword puzzles, and later in life, keeping up with her family and friends via social media. More than anything, she cherished the time she spent with family and friends. Whether it was dinner with her ‘First Friday’ teacher friends, conversing over a good Hallmark movie or hosting family at ‘Nightcap Nana’s’, she thoroughly enjoyed quality time with those she loved. All who knew her will miss her dearly.
Mrs. Donahue is lovingly survived by her sons, Michael Donahue and his fiancé Jackie Armagost of Hudson, NH, Mark Donahue and the late Brooke Evjy of Maynard, Kevin Donahue of Cotuit, Patrick Donahue and his wife Jennifer of Hudson and Gary Donahue and his wife Kerrie of Gloucester. She was the grandmother of Patrick and his wife Alyssa, Bobby and his fiancé Lindsey Kelly, Thomas, Keegan, Liam and Cooper. She also leaves a sister Judy Silva of Maynard. Sadly, she was predeceased by her husband William Donahue, son Brian Donahue and brother William Wehkoja.
