Obituary for Owen Duggan
Owen Francis Duggan, 88, of Wells, Maine and Fort Myers, Florida died unexpectedly in his sleep at his residence on Monday May 15, 2023. Owen was born on November 9, 1934 in Marlboro, MA, the son of the late Ed and Gertrude (Jobin) Duggan. Before retirement, he lived his entire life in Maynard, MA.
He was a graduate of Maynard High School and served in the US Army from 1954 to 1956, was released to attend college where he received his BS from Boston University and an MBA from Northeastern University. For most of his working career he was employed by Raytheon and retired in 1993.
On October 11,1956, he married the love of his life, Alice J Boeske and they had 3 loving children. Nothing meant more to Owen than his family and especially the time they all spent together in Maine. He was also an avid golfer and could spend hours in his garden.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years Alice of Wells, Maine and Fort Myers, FL, Brian A Duggan and his wife Pam of Santa Barbara, CA, Sharon D Gillett and her husband Rick of Westford, MA and Kevin A Duggan and his wife Krista of Hempsted, Texas. He is also survived by his brothers Paul and Neil Duggan and his sister Ellen Duggan.
Owen is survived by 6 grandchildren, Michael Gillett, David Gillett, Lauren Duggan, Jordan Duggan, Scott Lanehart and Liam Duggan.
Relatives and friends are invited to visiting hours at the Acton Funeral Home 470 Massachusetts Avenue (Rt. 111) Acton on Friday May 26th from 9:30-10:30AM. A graveside service will follow at 11:00AM at Glenwood Cemetery, Great Road, Maynard.
