Obituary for Maureen Anne (Murphy) DeCoste

Maureen Anne (Murphy) DeCoste

Maureen Anne (Murphy) DeCoste, 54, of Littleton, MA, passed away peacefully on the morning of Friday, November 19, 2021. Moe was surrounded by her family when the gates of heaven opened to her.

Moe grew up in Burlington, went to Merrimack College, and worked at Woburn Pediatrics. In the summers, she could be found at her favorite place, Lake Winnipesaukee, where she met her husband, Chuck. They shared a love of sunrises for 27 years, and together they had five beautiful children. Moe was happiest when she was supporting them at their sporting events, theatre performances, graduations, and all other activities.

As a sister, daughter, wife, mother, and friend, Moe was the best listener. No matter what the topic was, she would always give her full attention and engagement. She was a rock to many and helped in any way she could in any situation. Moe is remembered for her thoughtfulness and compassion, always putting others before herself. Family always came first for Moe, but her concept of family reached beyond blood.

Faith was Moe’s foundation, and her family’s rally cry was Fully Rely On God (FROG). She spread God’s love with an infectious smile and laughter. When any of her kids were in a bad mood, she would go to any length to turn their frowns upside down, though it rarely took more than a glance at her smile. Her sense of humor and ability to lovingly tease anyone would fill any room with joy.

Moe is survived by her best friend and husband Chuck and their five children, Adam, Joey, Tucker, Heather, and Brady of Littleton, along with her parents Maureen and Robert Murphy of Burlington, her sister Carrie and brother-in-law John Moran of Land o’ Lakes, FL, her brother Kevin and sister-in-law Lisa Murphy of North Reading, her mother-in-law Ann DeCoste of Dedham and sister-in-law Sheree and husband Charlie of Norfolk. Moe is also survived by many adoring nieces and nephews.
