Obituary for Mary Elizabeth "Mary Lee" (Barrett) Kendall
ACTON, MA – Mary Elizabeth “Mary Lee” (Barrett) Kendall, 84, a long time Acton resident, died peacefully on Saturday, August 6th, 2022 at her home in Acton one day before her 85th birthday. She was the wife of the late Robert W Kendall Sr., a lifelong Acton resident.
Born in Newton, MA to Violet (Pennie) Barrett and John Barrett Sr., she was the oldest of four children and the only daughter.
Prior to her retirement, Mary was employed for over 30 years in various administrative positions at Digital Equipment Corporation in Maynard, MA. She enjoyed reading, dancing and socializing with friends and family. In her later years, Mary enjoyed spending family time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her children, Gregg M. Kendall of Littleton, MA, Brian R. Kendall of Kittery, ME, her brothers, Martin and Richard Barrett, both residing in Florida; seven grandchildren, Robert III, Rebecca, Cory, Dillon, Benjamin Kendall, Lauren Whitman and Erin Nese; five great grandchildren, Shawn Whitman, Ethan, Owen, Finnegan and Eleanor Kendall and Magnolia Nese; and many nieces, nephews and their families.
She was predeceased by her husband and her oldest son, Robert W. Kendall, Jr., her brother, John Barrett Jr. in addition to her parents.
Visiting hours are Thursday, August 11th from 4:00-7:00pm at the Acton Funeral Home, 470 Massachusetts Ave, (Rte 111) Acton. Funeral Mass in St. Bridget’s Church of Ascension Parish, 1 Percival St., Maynard on Friday, August 12th at 11:00am, followed by burial in Woodlawn Cemetery, 104 Concord Road, Acton Center.
