On February 19, 2021, Margaret E. (Hale) Douglas, a long time resident of Acton, loving mother of two, passed away at the age of 76, peacefully at Care Dimensions Hospice House in Lincoln with her children by her side.
She was born March 27, 1944 in Cambridge, Ma to Eileen Callanan and Eugene Hale.
She grew up in Acton where she attended school including ABRHS , where she was a member of the rifle club, glee club and national honors society. She also enjoyed square dancing with the Acton Square Wheelers. In 1958 she performed at the Brussels World’s Fair with them. She graduated from high school in 1962.
She enjoyed reading, sewing and spending time with her family and loved the ocean. She had many different jobs over her life ranging from Digital and JoAnn's Fabrics to being an overnight security guard. She also worked many years for the Town of Acton’s Planning Board. Her last job was probably her favorite working third shift at the West Acton Mobil Station! She loved people and got to see so many faces old and new there.
She was preceded in death by her mother (Eillen), her father (Eugene) and many other aunts, uncles and cousins. She is survived by her son Donald and daughter Katy both of Acton, and two grandchildren, Logan Campobasso of Acton and Taylor Campobasso of Lunenburg, her sister Jeanne Wood of Florida, and niece Cindy Paul (and family) of Hopkinton, Ma.
She will be fondly remembered and severely missed by all who knew her.
A memorial service will be planned for later this summer. In lieu of flowers, donations in her name can be made to the American Lung Association or Reading is Fundamental.
