Obituary

Margaret Perillo, a lifelong Maynard resident, died at age 96 on December 19, 2020. She had been living at LifeCare of Acton for the past 5 years, where she spent her time with the many wonderful friends and dedicated staff who took such good care of her.

Margaret was born in Sudbury, the daughter of the late Vittorio (Tony) Bastinelli and Michelina (Lanunziata) Bastinelli. She was the loving wife of the late Guy Perillo and adoring sister of the late Mary Blanchette, Tony Bastinelli and Frank Bastinelli.

Margaret was a devout Catholic and lifelong member of St. Bridget’s Church in Maynard.

Margaret is survived by her daughter, Patricia Emery and son-In-law Tom Emery. She is also survived by her 3 grandchildren, Christopher and wife Lynne, Laura and husband Tom, Adam and wife Heatherlee, and 5 great-grandchildren, Cameron, Dylan, Calvin, Clara and Clementine and many cherished nieces and nephews.

She loved her family, and she was deeply loved by them in return. Her sweet nature was impossible not to notice by everyone who knew her, and her astounding ability of finding the positive in every situation was an amazing gift. Margaret especially found joy in spending time with loved ones, whether for a special occasion or just for a daily chat. She never tired of hearing our stories and family updates. We affectionately called her Mom, Gram and GGM (great-grandma Margaret as her great-grandchildren called her) and Auntie Margaret. Family always came first for Margaret and meant everything to her. She was one of a kind and will be truly missed. We find comfort now in knowing she is finally together again with her beloved husband, Guy.

Funeral will be private due to COVID 19. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Margaret’s memory to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105, also online at stjude.org

Dear Patty and family,
Our heartfelt sympathy on the loss of your mother. I enjoyed getting to know her (and you) when she and my mother were roommates at LCCA. You'll be in out thoughts.

Patty and family,
What a sweet woman your mother was! I cut her hair for so many years and I always looked forward to her appointments! I’m sure that she is so happy to be with your Dad again.
