Obituary for Margaret Ann Kennedy
Marge Kennedy died Wednesday night December 28, 2022. Her funeral will be held at The Church of the Good Shepherd on Saturday January 28 at 10:00am. At Marge‘s request, we are encouraged to wear “bright and cheerful clothing” to her funeral. Any additional details will be forthcoming.
Margaret (Mudge) Ann Kennedy was born on October 28, 1934, in Madison, Wisconsin to Edwin and Ann Kennedy. Her sister Jean was born in August 1939, providing mix of love and good-natured teasing. Marge lived many places ranging from Brooklyn, NY, to rural New Hampshire, to Acton.
Marge shared the joys of being a mother to her son Steve Long and grandmother to Will, Nick, and Samantha. She traveled to Scotland and England to see her beloved sister Jean. And she spent 87 summers at our family Camp in the Adirondacks. She was a graduate of Wilson College, Bank Street College of Education, and attended Union Theological Seminary for a year.
Marge had a long career teaching and directing early childhood programs. She volunteered in many local organizations with a focus on social service concerns.
Marge enjoyed being a member of The Oasis in the Woods (also known as The Church of the Good Shepherd).
Marge was grateful for each and every joy of her life.
