2 Timothy 4:7 - "I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith."

ASHLAND, MA: Joseph Chacko, 79, affectionately known as "Babu," died peacefully Saturday, April 25, 2020 in Lincoln, MA. He was the loving husband of 52 years to Soosamma Joseph of Ashland, MA.

Born in Kochi, Kerala, India, Mr. Chacko was the son of P.J. and Mary Chacko. He completed schooling in Chennai, India and had 40 years of service at Ennore Foundries Limited. Mr. Chacko immigrated to the US in 1996, and was employed as a Mental Health Worker for Department of Mental Health, Boston, MA. A man of faith, he was a member of St. Mary's Indian Orthodox Church in Maynard, MA for the past 24 years.

A former soccer player, Mr. Chacko was a hardcore fan of the New England Patriots and Boston Celtics, never missing a Patriot's game. He especially loved listening to music, and in India he had a music band and organized concerts with many well-known Indian musicians. In later years he enjoyed his grandkids' musical abilities, both vocal and instrumental, and even in his last days their music lifted his spirits.

Mr. Chacko was very social and loved entertaining. He cherished time spent with friends, relatives and family and had a way of instantly making others feel happy. He is remembered as a loving father, grandfather, uncle and brother; a pillar of his family and inspiration to his grandchildren. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Chacko was predeceased by his siblings, P.C Johnson, P.C Varughese, P.C Abraham and P.C Thomas.

He is survived by his devoted wife Soosamma Joseph of Ashland, MA; their children and spouses: Jacob P. Joseph and Asha Jacob of Ashland, MA, Mary Abraham and Joshua Abraham of Acton, MA; grandchildren Rayna Jacob, Gina Abraham, Joel Abraham and Aiden Jacob; a sister Sheela Thomas, and his in-laws in Massachusetts, Thomas Chacko and Family of Winchester, MA, Moli George and Family of Ashland, MA, Joshua Chacko and Family of Harvard, MA, as well as a large, extended family in India including nephews, nieces, cousins and their families.

My sincere condolences to your family.................I worked with "Susie" for years in the Metro West kitchen and loved listening to her stories about her husband and family. I only met Joseph a few times but each time he had a smile to share and a twinkle in his eyes. Many blessings to those who loved him, may His peace be with you all at this time.
