In Memory of

Obituary for John F. "Jack" Lucey Jr.

Born April 1, 1932, Jack was a quiet man who loved his family above all, then his Irish heritage.
He loved his books and to read; he loved history and to paint; and, of course, golf. He loved being a Democrat and never understood the Republicans.

He was born and raised in Holyoke, MA. He graduated St. Anselm college but never stopped taking courses.
He served in US Army counter-intelligence in Tokyo. He was a financial administrator for many years at Harvard University.

He met me, Eileen Kennedy, at a Bingo game in Tokyo. He was supposed to be at the airport; I should have been in class. But there was a terrible snowstorm and our Irish heritage intervened.

Our family was the whole world to him: Our daughter, Kathleen Siobhan, and her son, Conor Robert; our son, Sean Michael, his wife, Maja, and their sons, Sean Conor and Liam Mason; And our Swiss exchange student, Markus Meewes, his wife, Kathrin, and their three sons: Neilton, Lewin and Tinian.

We lived almost 60 years in Acton, where he coached Little League, Youth Basketball and Flag Football.
Upon retirement, he and I traveled the world to any place that sounded interesting, or was historical, was on our list.

He was such a kind and gentle man. He was helpful in any way. He was a wonderful listener. We will all miss him terribly.

A memorial service of remembrance is scheduled for August 26, 2023, at 11:00 am at the Acton Funeral Home, Acton, MA
