Obituary for James Rosencrans

James (“Jim”) F. Rosencrans, 66, of Maynard, MA, passed away suddenly on November 13, 2022. Jim was born on January 10, 1956 in Cincinnati, Ohio. After Jim graduated from Lebanon High School in Ohio, he went on to study engineering at The University of Wisconsin-Madison. After graduating with a degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering, he started his first job at NCR as a Process Developer for computer chip memory design, kickstarting a 40-year career in Computer Engineering.

Jim was a voracious reader and truly enjoyed learning about historical events and people, as well as researching breakthroughs in technology and medical science. He was a member of several organizations, including the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE-USA), the National Defense Industrial Association (NDIA), and the Boston Entrepreneurs Network. He recently represented the IEEE-USA as a member of the MA Delegation of Congressional Visit Day where he met with Massachusetts Senators and House Members to advocate for funding and advancement of science and technology and for comprehensive data privacy and ethical Artificial Intelligence policies and objectives.

He played tennis in his younger days and loved watching the sport on TV. Jim is remembered every day by his friends and family as a supremely kind and generous person.

He was predeceased by his father (Clifford Dale Rosencrans), mother, (Emma Lou Rosencrans), and brother (Michael Dale Rosencrans). He is survived by his loving wife of 29 years Deborah Rosencrans, as well as his sister (Mary Lou Neighbour), nieces (Hannah Claire Neighbour, Madeleine Li Rhee, and Olivia Biggs), and nephew (Jacob Stephen Rhee).

Visitation will be held at the Acton Funeral Home, 470 Massachusetts Avenue (Rte. 111) in Acton, MA on November 19, 2022 from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM.

The family is asking for thoughts and prayers as they grieve.
