Obituary for Francis E. Roy

Francis E. “Fran” Roy, 90, of Acton, Passed away on Wednesday, April 6 in AdviniaCare in Wellesley.
Fran was born on December 22, 1932 in North Adams, MA the son of the late George and Bertha (Hunter) Roy and he has resided in Acton from 1967.
He was the beloved husband of the late Jean Ann (Wohler) Roy who died in 2018.
Mr. Roy is survived by his three sons; Francis E. “Skip” Roy, Jr. and his wife Linda of Shirley, Michael G. Roy and his wife Nancy of Upton, David C. Roy and his wife Wendy of Acton; 10 grandchildren, Christopher, Timothy, Bethany, Adam, Justin, Josh, Jeremy, Heather, Laura and Heidi, 17 great grandchildren and 2 great - great grandchildren. In Addition to his parents he is predeceased by his siblings, Richard Roy, Eleanor Blair, Norman Roy, Ken Roy, Bob Roy.
Mr. Roy served his country in the US NAVY.
Mr. Roy was employed at Raytheon as an Electrical Engineer.
Fran enjoyed square dancing, and he and his wife Jean, danced with the Acton Square Wheelers Club. He was a member of the choir at South Acton Congregational Church. He sang as a bass in the Barbara Shop Chorus, Sounds of Concord and the Lowell Gentlemen Songsters. Fran was also a 32nd degree Mason.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 11 from 9:30am to 11:00am at the Acton Funeral Home, 470 Massachusetts Ave. (Rte 111) Acton, followed by a funeral service in the funeral home at 11:00am. Services will conclude with burial and Military Honors in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Central Street, West Acton.
