Donna Lee Collentro, 86, formerly from Littleton and Acton, passed away peacefully on
Tuesday, March 14, 2023 at Dodge Park Residential Care Home in Worcester, MA. Donna’s
family, friends and countless others will remember her warmth, her unwavering love and
devotion to her family, her love of music and cooking and her service to community and church
organizations.
Donna was born on June 22,1936 in Wolfeboro, NH. She was raised in Wolfeboro and North
Kingstown, RI. She graduated from North Kingstown High School (1954) and Newton-
Wellesley Hospital School of Nursing (1957). She was a member of the Daughters of the American
Revolution. Donna married the love of her life, Joseph Sebastian Collentro on November 3, 1957. Donna
and Joe celebrated their 63rd anniversary in 2020. They raised 5 children and were blessed
with 11 grandchildren.
Donna had a long nursing career. She worked at various hospitals in the greater Boston area,
Oklahoma City and Springfield, MA. She retired from Emerson Hospital in Concord, MA.
Donna and Joe were active members of the Society of St. Vincent De Paul and dedicated
themselves to helping young mothers and families in the surrounding Littleton area as
members of St. Anne’s Church.
Donna has always had a passion for music. There was always music playing at the Collentro
home. In high school, she was the student music librarian and band manager. She sang in
many church choirs. Donna was also an avid reader and enjoyed knitting, sewing, coloring and
drawing. She loved to cook and bake and enjoyed teaching her children and grandchildren
how to bake pies, cookies and ravioli.
Donna is the daughter of the late Edson and Marion (Kent) Kennett. Donna’s beloved Joe
predeceased her in 2021. She is also predeceased by her youngest son, Brian, and brother,
John Edson Kennett. Donna leaves behind son J Scott Collentro and his wife, Ann; daughter
Terri Collentro Morte and her husband, Stephen Morte; daughter Lisa Curry and husband,
Robert; son Jeffrey S Collentro; daughter-in-law Lisa Collentro; brother Stuart Kennett and his
wife Ann and sister-in-law Victoria Kennett. Donna leaves behind 11 grandchildren - John,
Andrew, Katherine Collentro; Marston and Marissa Morte; Kyle and Courtney Curry; Brittany,
Brooke, Jack and Jason Collentro and several nieces and nephews.
Donna’s family will have a private service on Tuesday, March 21, 2023. Donna will be laid to
rest beside her Joe at Woodlawn Cemetery, Acton. An online memorial has been set-up with
