Obituary for David Nichols
David G Nichols Jr
David G Nichols Jr ,formerly of Acton, passed away after a long battle with diabetes on May 8, 2023 at the Highlands in Fitchburg. Born June 22,1957 in Concord, Massachusetts to the late Mary E.(Byrne) and David G. Nichols.
He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Cheryl (Pacy) of Acton and his sons James David Nichols of Acton and Justin Wayne Pacy of Raymond NH.
Dave attended the Acton public schools, after which he had a multitude of jobs including working for his uncle 'Zeke'.
He was employed at Nuclear Metals in West Concord for nearly 18 years, After which, he became beloved custodian for the town of Acton for another 19 years until his retirement.
Dave had many passions. He played softball throughout his adult life, for multiple leagues and teams, earning a reputation as both powerhouse hitter, and a brick wall catcher. Dave also loved to fish, never leaving the house without his pole and accessories, just in case he came upon a good place to drop his line.
An avid outdoorsman in all regards, Dave’s biggest passion though, was hunting. He began at the age of 16 in Vermont with his father, uncles, brothers and many friends. Every weekend from October until Thanksgiving thats where you could find him.
During the later years, he spent his leisurely time on the porch with the family dogs Samson, Staley and Mitch which he loved dearly
Dave was truly a one of a kind character who left an indelible impression on anyone he met. He will be missed by so many.
Dave is also survived by his brother Dale from Wells, Vermont, Darryl and Dana, from Baldwinville, and a nephew Dominic from Concord along with a large loving extended family.
