Daniel P. Sweeney, 66, of Princeton, MA, died unexpectedly at his home on Saturday, January 1, 2022. He was the beloved husband of Debra J. (Boston) Sweeney, to whom he was married for 40 years.
Born in Boston and raised in Acton, he attended the Acton schools and graduated from Waltham Technical School. Dan enjoyed his work as a master pipefitter for DECCO Inc. in Brookline, NH, where he worked for many years. He especially loved time spent working the farm on his tractor, wearing his favorite hat and smoking a cigar. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by three sons, Brandon M., Daniel C. and Rory; his sisters, Kathleen Colburn, Sheila Belliveau, Rose Nevala, Eileen Eisner and Joyce Saliga; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and their families. He was predeceased by his parents, Daniel J. and Lucy A. (Joyce) Sweeney, and his sisters Mary Clark and Maureen Gallant.
Visiting hours are Friday, January 7th from 5:00-8:00pm at the Acton Funeral Home, 470 Massachusetts Ave (Rte 111) Acton. Funeral services are Saturday, January 8th at 10:00am at the funeral home, with burial following in the family lot in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Central Street, West Acton.
