Constance “Connie” Therese Stigliani (Ayotte) of Maynard, Massachusetts, recently of Brightview Assisted Living in Billerica, passed away on March 10, 2023 at the age of 97 years. She was born in Maynard, the daughter of Cham and Margaret (Brennan) Ayotte. With the exception of living for a brief time in Charlestown, Massachusetts when first married, she lived in Maynard her entire life, first on Front Street and later on Lincoln Street. She did secretarial work when single, but happily settled into her role of wife and mother after marriage.
As an active member of the Maynard community, she was involved in many local organizations, including the Maynard Historical Society, Maynard Senior Citizens, the Drop-In Center, the Council on Aging, St. Bridget’s Church, and the Sodality Society. She enjoyed music and dance, and performed alongside her husband with the Seasoned Singers and the Tap ‘n Tones. She also enjoyed traveling and meeting new people with her husband, with trips to Europe, Asia, and Central America - 39 countries in total! She was also an avid crafter, seamstress, painter, and reader, dedicating much of her time to learning and trying new things.
She was predeceased by her husband Vincent, to whom she was married 68 years, a son, John, an infant son, Matthew, a grandson, Nicholas Beason, and a son-in-law, Alan Gunn. She leaves behind her daughters Mary Gunn, of Rutland, Vermont, Patricia Beason (Stephen) of Lebanon, Ohio, and her son Joseph Stigliani, of Hingham, Massachusetts. Other survivors include her beloved granddaughters - Vicki and Rosie Stigliani, Meghan (Greg Wallett), Katie and Emily Gunn, as well as great grandchildren - Kayla, Tyler, Anthony, James, and Sarah. She also leaves her many friends and caregivers at Brightview Concord River Assisted Living.
Visiting Hours: Tuesday, March 14th, 4-7pm, Acton Funeral Home, 470 Massachusetts Avenue (Route 111), Acton. Funeral Mass: Wednesday, March 15th, 10am, St. Bridget’s Church, 1 Percival Street, Maynard. Burial in St. Bridget’s Cemetery.
