Obituary for Christine (Coughlin) Dunn
Christine Dunn (Coughlin) of Sudbury, MA passed away on October 1st, 2022 at home in the loving company of her entire family. She was 61 years old.
A native of Greenfield, MA, Christine graduated from Greenfield High School in 1979. She worked and traveled for over 15 years as a buyer for G. Fox and Filene’s.
It was in 1989 that she met the love of her life, Brian Dunn. Christine and Brian married on May 22, 1993. Together, they shared a lifetime of memories with their four wonderful children.
As her son Matthew stated, “My mom was the hardest fighting, most loving woman. She was the most generous, forgiving and sweetest person. Her fighting example allowed me to believe in myself and push on no matter what I’m facing in life.”
Her loving son Billy added, “Despite the hardship she faced constantly over 11 years, she held a positive outlook. She believed her situation could always be worse, and she remained grateful for her life blessings. She is the reason to appreciate blessings in life.”
While her son Brian attested, “My mother was such a good role model and possessed so many good characteristics…..if I can amount to a fraction of the person she was, my life will be fulfilled. Her absolute love and compassion will live through my brothers and sisters.”
It was her loving husband who cherished Christine everyday by being blessed to have been able to share so much joy with her. Remembering their wedding day, just after their vows were exchanged, Brian distinctly remembers the loud clap of thunder as the last words of his vows left his mouth, God’s impeccable sense of timing to bless their marriage. He loved and cherished Christine in sickness and health through to their very last minutes together. They were blessed by God with their greatest gift, four wonderful children. Her strength gives Brian hope and courage. Brian is assured that Christine is now with God and is at peace, for He will surely love her as much as Brian does.
Christine was a devoted parishioner of Our Lady of Fatima in Sudbury. She served as Our Lady of Fatima’s Office Manager for 15 years, furthering her devotion to her church community.
Calling hours will be Tuesday, October 4th, from 4 - 7 p.m., at Acton Funeral Home in Acton.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, October 5th, at 11 a.m. at Ascension Parish’s Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church in Sudbury. The Rite of Committal will follow at Saint Bridget Cemetery in Maynard.
Christine was preceded in death by her Father, Paul; Mother, Caroline; and her Sister, Kathy. Her survivors include her loving husband of 29 years Brian, and her four children, Brian, William, Matthew and Colleen, as well as her sister Anne and brothers, Michael and Matthew.
