Obituary for Charlotte E. (Tolman) Wetherbee

Charlotte Elizabeth (Tolman) Wetherbee, in her 100th year, passed away peacefully on March 1, 2021 with family at her side. She was born June 23, 1921 at Emerson Hospital, Concord, MA to Nellie Edith (Jones) and Henry Everett Tolman. She was predeceased by her husband Thomas E. Wetherbee as well as her brothers Lucius Tolman and Wilbur Tolman. Charlotte was a lifelong resident of Acton, MA living on the same street for 92 years. A graduate of Miss Farmer's School of Cookery, Boston, MA, she worked as a pastry cook at Howard Johnson's in Concord, MA. There she met and married the love of her life, Thomas E. Wetherbee in 1942.

Charlotte enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and baking. She was a volunteer at Emerson Hospital for over 50 years. Twelve of those years were dedicated to helping families using Emerson's Hospice care. In 1987 she began working at the West Concord 5&10 and continued for many enjoyable years. She was always available to family, friends and acquaintances to offer help and support. Until recent years, she was active in her church and community. She volunteered at church, worked as a poll worker for many elections and belonged to the Friends of Acton Nursing Service and Emerson Hospital Auxiliary.

She is survived by her daughters Diane Bilodeau of Greenacres, FL and Lois Flint and her husband David of Merrimack, NH and her son Robert Wetherbee and his wife Roberta of Littleton, MA. She also has five loving grandchildren, Aaron Flint and wife Kim (Vigneault) of Goffstown, NH, David Flint and his wife Alison (Grote) of Merrimack, NH, Kirsten (Bilodeau) Cook and her husband Bryan of Okanogan, WA, Bradford Wetherbee and his wife Sara (Harris) of Ashburnham, MA and Jillian (Wetherbee) Marshall and husband Michael of Lunenburg, MA.

In addition, she is survived by six Great-Grandchildren, Paige and Tate Flint, Katherine and Thomas Wetherbee and Delilah and Bevin Marshall. She leaves behind many beloved nieces and nephews and many devoted friends.

The family wishes to convey their thanks and appreciation to the employees and residents at Robbins Brook, the medical staff from Care Dimensions and the caregivers from Georgia's Girls Home Care for their kindness to her and her family.
