ACTON, MA: Gloria (Stoccardo) Powaza died Sept. 21, 2019 in Newtown, PA with her dearest friend and beloved husband Frank (Francis) at her side. In addition to her husband Frank, she is also survived by her sister Mary Vassallo of Wallingford, PA; her brother Robert Stoccardo and his wife Alice of Winter Park, FL; and many dear nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great grand nieces and nephews.

Gloria was born in Philadelphia, PA to Michael and Carmella Stoccardo. She is also predeceased by her brothers Raymond and Nicholas Stoccardo, her sisters Margaret McCullough, Frances Zambriczki, Barbara Pellechio and Catherine DiBiase; and a nephew Raymond Stoccardo.

Gloria was educated in Philadelphia; received her nursing diploma from Misericordia Hospital in New York, and attained both her Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Nursing from Boston College. She held many leadership positions in nursing and home health care, retiring in 1988 as President and CEO of the VNA of Central MA and its affiliated agencies.

Relatives and friends are invited to visiting hour Saturday September 28th from 9:30-10:30 A.M. at the Acton Funeral Home,470 Massachusetts Ave (Rte 111) Acton. The funeral Mass will follow at 11 A.M. in St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church, 89 Arlington Streeet, Acton with burial in Woodlawn Cemetery, 104 Concord Road, Acton Center.
