Anne M. Wooden, a longtime resident of Acton and Boxborough, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 11, 2021 at the Emerson Hospital. She was 84 years old. She was the beloved wife of David C. Wooden.
Mrs. Wooden was born and raised in Portsmouth, England to the late Frank Henry Chandler and Dorothy Mary (Nixon) Beschorner. She attended nursing school in the UK and worked as a registered nurse in England for 5 years. The Woodens moved to Canada in 1966 and then to the Acton and Boxborough area in 1987.
Mrs. Wooden had a passion for art. She created many pieces in watercolors and silk screen. She also created many pieces of jewelry. She enjoyed traveling, especially trips back to England and to Bermuda. She and her husband David took many cruises over the years and also enjoyed time spent on Cape Cod in Hyannis.
In addition to her husband David, she leaves her loving son Stephen Wooden of Quebec, her brother Peter Chandler of Poole, England; half-siblings Jasmine Beschorner of Melbourne, Australia, Hugo Beschorner of Blandford Forum, England and Susan Hillier of Havant, England.
Relatives and friends are invited to visiting hours on Sunday, November 21 from 2:00-4:00PM at the Acton Funeral Home 470 Massachusetts Avenue (Rt. 111) Acton. Those who wish may make memorial contributions in her name to the Alzheimer's Association.
